UA: Ukraine launched 10 national projects under the decision of President

Ten national projects developed under decision of Ukrainian President Viktor Ianoukovitch were presented Wednesday in Kiev, at a meeting of the Committee for economic reforms.

The Project "New Energy"' includes the construction of a liquefied gas terminal.

"This project will allow Ukraine to become independent from monopoly gas suppliers", said Vladislav Kaska, head of the working group of national projects committee for economic reforms, unicameral parliament deputee "Verkhovna Rada" of Ukraine.

Another project, "Energy of nature" refers to the construction of solar and winds power plants.

"It about producing 2,000 MW of wind and solar energy, which is about 2 billion cubic meters of imported gas. Project will be completed in Crimea and Zaporizhzhia region", remarked M. Kaska.

The project "Quality of Life" includes six programs that allow construction of affordable housing and the "Clean city" project is dedicated to the construction of solid waste treatment plants for their recovery.

The other six national projects are:
- "Good Quality Water" (the construction of 23,000 drinking water network in institutions for children, etc.)
- "Open World"'(a system of information and communication based on 4G technology)
- "City of Future" (creation of strategic urban plans, a pilot project will be launched in Kiev)
- "New Life" (social project implemented with the Ministry of Public Health)
- "2020 Olympic Hope" (infrastructure development in the mountainous region of western Ukraine)
- "New infrastructure" (launching an express train Kiev - Borispol airport). 

The 10 projects will be presented to experts and investors after approbation of Ukrainian President Viktor Ianoukovitch.

"We hope that some projects will be launched in a few months", said M. Kaska.
"Feasibility studies for other projects will be completed before the end of 2011",' he added.
