The windfarm will be built in eastern Jiangsu Province. Shiming Zhao, general manager of Huaneng renewables, indicated that the first project (300 MW) should be approved by central government in the second half of 2011.

Dafeng windfarm, located 55 kilometers from the coast, will consist of 100 wind turbines (3 MW each), delivered by Sinovel company, the largest Chinese manufacturer of wind turbines.

This first large park will be to generate in the end and annually 740 million kWh of electricity of renewable origin.
This will also allow a consume savings equivalent to 250,000 tons of coal, 2.4 million cubic meters of water and carbon dioxide emissions, and reduction of sulfur dioxide and soot, respectively 620 000, 6,000 and 2,500 tonnes.
