As part of DuPont's investment program worth 295M$ aiming to double Tedlar film capacity, the company released that the production of PVF polymer resin was launched at its factory in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

"Starting up this new line of polymer resin production for Tedlar film is a critical step necessary for us to meet the overwhelming customer demand for this essential solar panel backsheet material", said David B. Miller, president of DuPont Electronics & Communications.

“Tedlar enables solar panels to deliver reliable power output for 25 plus years. This capacity expansion will allow us to help our customers supply the highest quality solar modules as the market continues to grow".

By using the second production line at its factory in Fayetteville, DuPont expects to offer a higher production of Tedlar film through next year. An additional production is scheduled to begin in Circleville, Ohio, in September 2011.

Founded in 1802, DuPont operates in approximatley 80 countries and offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture, nutrition, electronics, communications, safety and protection, home and construction, transportation and apparel.
