SunEdison Solar will expand AT &a T's national business by commissioning a new solar power rooftop installed in San Diego.
Mayor Jerry Sanders of San Diego, and executives from AT & T and SunEdison were present to officially start the solar system.
AT & T has additional contracts with SunEdison to implement five other solar plants in California in the second quarter of 2011, totaling approximately 2 MW of solar capacity total for all six sites.
Solar installations in California will be located in Dunnigan, Commerce, Mojave, Santa Ana and West Sacramento. Solar installation in San Diego is a 296 kW photovoltaic system installed on the roof.
"Partnerships such as this one between AT&T and SunEdison show why San Diego continues to be the national leader in solar energy", said San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders.
