Bosch's Thermotechnology division announced plans to buy the integral shares of Kohler & Ziegler Anlagetechnik GmbH.
The top European producer of sustainable heating and hot water systems will thus include in its portfolio a German supplier of combined heat and power plants with power capacity between 20 KW and 2 MW.
Electricity and heat is generated by these plants using highly efficient combined heat and power systems resulting in a gross efficiency of more than 90 percent. Their main uses are in heat and power buildings supply, heat generation for industrial processes as well as in district heating networks. They can operate also on renewable energies such as biofuel.
"The acquisition complements our activities in the promising co-generation segment and expands our portfolio of environmentally compatible technologies. Kohler & Ziegler is one of the pioneers in this technology. We will now jointly expand this business both geographically and technically” - Dr.-Ing. Jurgen Sterlepper, member of the executive management of the Bosch Thermotechnology division. He added that “the acquisition will add larger plants as well as container construction, especially for biogas plants, to Bosch's product range”.
