Danfoss has recently developed an up-to-date indoor climate system for the innovative, newly designed UFO houseboat.

Featuring the latest solutions in heat pumps, floor heaters and ventilation, the Danish top worldwide producer of electronic controls, components, compressors, heat exchangers and variable-speed drives for air conditioning and refrigeration, has came up with environmentally friendly systems that enables a cut in conventional energy usage levels by more than 50%.

Danfoss developed the whole highly efficient indoor climate system for the project resulting in reduced energy consumption in comparison with classical heating solutions. A heat pump generates heat and hot water by means of indirect solar energy that the sea stores during daytime, and the indoor climate is monitored through a heat recovery ventilation system.

"It has been both challenging and exciting to work with a comprehensive indoor climate solution on the UFO houseboat, and being able to draw on our many years of experience and great technological knowledge has been a great advantage. At the same time, it was important for us to create a solution that could be used in new constructions, renovation and low-energy homes, as well as one that could be expanded for use on a greater scale," - Mads Rasmussen, Product Solution Manager at Danfoss A/S Sales in Denmark.
