The Molded Vacuum Interrupter (MVI) from Thomas & Betts is the only such equipment in the industry designed to fit through doorways wind tower.

The unit doesn’t require maintenance, does not include gas or oil, and is available for underground vaults, towers, or other applications.

The 38kV 25kA MVI incorporates molded EPDM insulation Elastimold in combination with a vacuum breaker.

"The Elastimold MVI represents a significant technology advancement for the wind power industry, both in terms of installation time savings and reduced environmental impact," says Sergio Arellano, Elastimold Switchgear product manager.
"The Elastimold MVI is another example of how Thomas & Betts works hand-in-hand with its customers to understand the challenges they face, and then develops a product that helps to meet those challenges."

Headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., the company is a leading designer and manufacturer of electrical components, heating and ventilation units and highly engineered steel structures used for utility transmission.
