Spanish region of Valencia will be illuminated by energy-efficient cost-effective streetlights using Seoul Semiconductor LEDs

Seoul Semiconductor LEDs will make Valencia streets brighter, keep tourists safer. The region will have lower electrical bills thanks to 1,000 new energy-efficient and cost-effective streetlights.

The project is part of Revolution LED of Spain program, initiated to replace existing light bulbs on streets and in public facilities throughout the country with high-quality, energy-efficient lighting.

Seoul Semiconductor, a global-leading LED manufacturer, provided 1000 street lights installed in the municipality of Rafelbunyol.

Revolution LED tested the Seoul Semiconductor's LEDs for an entire year, proving they were up to the job. Seoul Semiconductor LEDs deliver the necessary brightness and last three times longer than traditional street lights. They offer the world's best luminous efficacy (100lm/W) from a single light source.

According to Revolution LED reports, energy consumption has been reduced 65 percent after replacing 160 W light bulbs with Seoul Semiconductor's. Three Seoul Semiconductor model were used for the street lights, the 56, 112 and 168 LEDs.

Sr. Vice President of Seoul Semiconductor S.M. Lee announced that 3,000 additional lighting fixtures are to be installed in the Valencian Community after the success of the program.  Another coastal Spanish community,  Jerez ia testing products and plans to replace 23,000 street lights.
