Kaco factory will start producing solar PV inverters Ontario

Another PV manufacturing company will set up a shop in Ontario to take advantage of the the province’s Green Energy Act feed-in tariff requirements.

Kaco said it will soon begin scale production of its solar photovoltaic inverter line in the factory from ON's Skyway Industrial Park, London.

The company will employ 50 full-time employees on the Canadian site, until the end of the year to produce its XP Series of 83kW and 100kW blueplanet inverters at the factory of the 25000 square ft until November, following to increase capacity to 330MW by 2011.

"We are very pleased by the welcome and support we have received from the City of London and the London Economic Development Corporation", said Peter Flachsmann, CEO of Kaco.


"We strongly believe in Ontario’s Green Energy Act FIT and microFIT programs and are looking forward to expanding our business in Canada. Ontario offers very competitive conditions for development and production internationally, and London offers a highly skilled and competent workforce".

The company hoped to reach 3GW capacity worldwide in 2011, and announced it will expand the facility in London to more than 40,000 sq ft next year.
