German Company PROKON Group has ordered 17 wind turbines of the most recent generation of Danish manufacturer Vestas (V112-3 MW).

This is the first order of its kind in Europe.

The 17 turbines will be placed on Mecklemboutg site in Germany and their delivery is scheduled for late 2011 and early 2012. With a total installed capacity of 385.9 MW wind power, PROKON remains one of the largest operators of wind energy in Germany.

"Today, 39 Vestas wind turbines were commissioned and distributed in our 32 wind farms representing a total of 235 wind turbines", said Carsten Rodbertus, the person responsible for partnerships with PROKON.

"For Krackov site, where wind speed reaches 7.1 m/s, the model V112-3 MW is best because it allows optimization of wind conditions".

Wind turbine V112-3 MW offers a different profile of the blade, a new design of the nacelle, a cooling system ensuring an optimized operation, while GridStreamer new technology offers "a stable energy production, according to various worldwide grid energy demands".

On 30 June 2010, Vestas indicate that has supplied 5819 turbines in Germany, with a total capacity of 7,784.13 MW wind energy.
