UK : Industry Leaders Receive Low Carbon Awards

The 2010 CIBSE Low Carbon Awards, which were awarded on February 3, 2010, showcased and honored the impact of energy certification on energy and cost savings in public buildings.

Darren Jones, CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessor, was celebrated for his detailed report concerning observations and opportunities identified while inspecting an Air Conditioning Facility at Eland House, London.
 
Atkins were nominated as Consultancy of the Year, while Wates were awarded the Contractor of the Year prize. Max Fordham was honored the New Build Project of the Year, Hackney and London Fire Brigade won Refurbishment of the Year. Cibse low carbon energy assessors Andrew Gardner and Darren Jones were awarded the EPC and DEC categories, with Gardner nominated as Low Carbon Consultant of the Year.
 
“CIBSE believes that changing buildings and cities is the first and fastest step to a less carbon intensive world.  All the engineers, architects, facilities and energy managers recognized here tonight are united in their aim to create a sustainable built environment,” declared Mike Simpson, CIBSE President.
